Las Vegas Twestival is tomorrow!

Do you tweet? Twitter is a social networking outlet that allows users to send and read other people’s one line updates which are 140 characters or less. Users basically perpetually answer the question, “What are you doing?” Twitter has caught on quickly for personal and professional use. Many major organizations and companies have Twitter accounts, including us here at Fletcher Jones Toyota (@fjtoyota)

Tomorrow, February 12th, 175+ cities around the world will be hosting Twestivals which bring together Twitter communities for an evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for charity: water. The Twestival is organized 100% by volunteers in cities around the world and 100% of the money raised from these events will go directly to support charity: water which is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations by funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need.

Here are some scary facts regarding water as a resource around the world:

Right now 1.1 billion people on the planet don’t have access to safe, clean drinking water. That’s one in six of us.

Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Many communities in developing nations often have a plentiful supply of clean drinking water just below the ground, but no way to get to it.

By rallying together globally, under short timescales, for a single aim on the same day, the Twestival hopes to bring awareness to this global crisis.

The Las Vegas Twestival will be at The Beatles REVOLUTION LOUNGE, Mirage Resort & Casino, 3400 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas NV 89109 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Even if you’re not active in the Twitter community, we’d love to see you there for a good cause!

Happy Inauguration Day!

We’re feeling a bit patriotic here today. It’s hard not to feel the vibe of good things to come and positive changes. Most of the staff was glued to a TV of some sort during the swearing in of our 44th president, whether we voted for President Obama or not.

We’ve posted the new incentives on our site. Click here. We even got them up faster than the manufacturer! And for the first time ever, Toyota is offering cash back on the Prius! Now is a great time to buy a hybrid. Gas prices will go up!

Well, it’s here!

The New Year has arrived. Really, it’s just like any other day but many of us choose to look at it as a fresh start. Wipe the slate clean. Let’s hope 2009 will outshine 2008!

Any guesses what the first vehicle sold in ‘09 will be? Certified Camry? New Tundra? Oooh, what about the Venza? We shall see!!

The Toyota Venza has finally arrived!

Many of us here at the dealership have been waiting for this new model. It’s got the driveability of a sedan but the fuctionality of an SUV. How can you beat that?!

There are also some pretty cool accessories being offered, mostly pet-related. In fact many pet-related blogs and sites are touting them. Here and here. You might even say Toyota’s gone to the dogs.
